Tuesdays With Morrie

I first heard about the book back in 2006, while I was still in my pre-degree year. It was my lecturer, Madam Noraini who first breathed a word about this heaven-sent book.

Last Sunday, upon my arrival home, out of jet-lag, I went straight to my room and there, inside the huge wardrobe, I saw it again after a good of three years. I only keep books that are worth re-reading.

To say that this is the best motivational book would sound more like an overstatement, since it is not even a 'Thoughts and Reflections' type of book (eg: Like the Flowing River by Paulo Coelho) and I have not read that many books in my life. But for those who have read the novel, many would agree that the book, in its own capacity and pace, has changed something in us: the reader. I have always had this conviction that once you have done reading a book, you would not be the same person anymore. It's only a question of better or worse.

Very much recently, Mitch Albom, the author of this masterpiece has released a new book entitled "Have a Little Faith". I haven't got the chance to lay my hand on this one yet for two reasons: firstly, they have only been published in Hard Cover so far, so you know what's the price like and secondly, I gleefully spent my money on New Moon the other day.

But for those who haven't read Tuesdays With Morrie, or have never even heard about it before, I feel honored to suggest this beautiful novel. Many say that this book only suits those in education world, but I don't go along with that. Whether you are an engineer, a doctor, a mother, a father, a son, a friend or even a loner, you are fully entitled to read this wonderful novel.

Maybe The Philadelphia Inquirer said it best:

"Mitch Albom's book is a gift to mankind".
