Three Times A Lady

Three weeks ago, I felt so down because I didn't do well in my Reading assignment. So I called my mum. Last week, I felt so happy because I got a good grade for my Contemporary Literature assignment. So I called my mum. Today, I felt so helpless because I got so many assignments I was afraid I couldn't get them done. So I called my mum.

You see, I had called my mum for three different reasons for the past few weeks, but I always got one thing in return regardless of the reasons I called home.

Comfort.

It's what mums do best, isn't it? When you can't just find the way out, mum will pave a path you never thought of, when you think the world has been cruel to you, mum will make you see wonders around you never saw, and when you just think everything is falling apart, mum will put everything together again.

Is there no end to your talent, mum?

Abu Huraira reported that a person came to Allah, 's Messenger (may peace be upon him) and said: Who among the people is most deserving of a fine treatment from my hand? He said: Your mother. He again said: Then who (is the next one)? He said: Again it is your mother (who deserves the best treatment from you). He said: Then who (is the next one)? He (the Holy Prophet) said: Again, it is your mother. He (again) said: Then who? Thereupon he said: Then it is your father.
