Serena Williams has just been named Laureus World Sportwoman of the Year for 2009.

Selected by Laureus World Sports Academy, the ultimate jury, made up of 46 of the greatest and most celebrated sportsmen and sportswomen of all time, Serena received the World's Greatest Sporting Award for the second time, after first clinching the same honor back in 2003. Williams wasn't there to receive the accolade.

There are many highlights in Serena's 2009 career. Among others are:

1. Won the Australian Open 2009
2. Won Wimbledon 2009
3. Won WTA Season-Ending Championship
4. Regained the World No. 1 Ranking
5. Record for the the most prize money earned in a single-season.

Oh, can't love this girl enough! Vamos, Serena! ;)
